Character White Oak has a lot of interest on its own, but these customers chose to incorporate a stunning medallion into their new entryway.
While is is common for contractors to purchase medallions pre-made, Max, head of install crew, handcrafted the octagon from the same solid hardwood used for the floor.
After installing the flooring that would surround the octagon, Max used a track saw to cut out the medallion's shape.
A weave of walnut between white Oak added a farther dimension to the entryway.
After the initial sand, we filled the cracks and knots that are distinctive to character flooring with a two part epoxy called UVPoxy.
Castle Brown Rubio was then applied the hardwood, which brought out its grain and added to the brown tone White Oak naturally has.
Accents like the dark beams in the ceiling, and artistic chandelier were a distinctive addition that brings the home style together.
This new home, with its white walls and open rooms, is a place where a Character White Oak floor fits perfectly.
