The walnut cherry parquet border makes this new floor more personalized.

A single type of wood can sometimes be monotonous, and these homeowners chose to have an intricate border installed to add a more sophisticated look.

Parquet borders are actually quite simple to install, because carpenters often pre-assemble the tiny pieces into one strip of wood.

After installing the hard maple in a diagonal pattern and framing the middle of the floor with the parquet pieces, we then finished installing the maple following the frame arrangement.

Finally, we recommended an application of Pure Rubio Monocoat, an oil based finish we use that protects the wood but also allows the natural colors of the grain come through.

With just a simple border, this hard maple floor has become center of attention that impresses everyone who enters the living room.
