Sometimes it makes sense to keep an existing floor, and in this case we were able to work with the customer to repair their pine floor and keep the antique characteristics of the house.
This Pine flooring had been under carpet for many years. When the customer decided to look into an economical flooring option, we suggested white oak shorts, which are shorter pieces of flooring that are priced much lower then long plank flooring. After removing the carpet, however, our customers found heart pine underneath, and were interested in preserving their home's character by repairing the existing floor.
The customer especially liked the deep red of the aged pine, which contrasted perfectly with their newly painted white walls.
Another highlight that we were able to preserve was the copper sheeting that previous installers had used to repair the floor many years ago.
By refinishing the existing floor, we were able to leave the character of the house intact, adding beauty to the home while preserving its history.
